Our attitude determines how well we carry out our responsibilities and how well we fair in our jobs. No one is a failure provided one looks at every failure as an opportunity to excel oneself. We know that our best skills alone will not help us to climb our career ladder but our positive attitudes can push us higher and higher.

We must constantly improve our attitude by managing, controlling and directing our mind and thoughts. The steps below can surely help us to build positive attitudes.

1. Focus on the positive of life.

Our lives are filled with a lot of positives and a very few negatives and yet we often harp upon these negatives. Its time we focus our total attention on the positive aspect of our lives. Look for what is right and bright in us and in others. In every person deep within him there is a big treasure of gold. Persons are like gold mines. Dig in that mine for gold not for dirt. Discover the gold in every person. If you dig for dirt you will be dirty. Focusing on the positive will make you a person of positive attitude.

2. Don't procrastinate.

Make a habit of `doing it now.' Procrastination leads to negative attitudes and failures. Develop in yourself a `do it now attitude'.

3. Develop an attitude of gratitude.

The more grateful you are the more blessings you will receive. Count your blessings not your troubles. Thank people for the good and the bad they give you. A grateful person is always a successful person.

4. Build a positive self-esteem.

Enhance your self-esteem by appreciating yourself and others. Positive attitude and self-esteem are closely related. Think well of yourself. You are full of potentials and strengths to transform the world. The world around us may not change, others may not change, but if we choose to change ourselves we will change the world.
